Move your Fuelio history to AutoMate

AutoMate reads Fuelio’s CSV export directly. It takes about ten minutes, and you see a preview before anything is saved.

  1. Export your data from Fuelio

In Fuelio, use its backup or export option and save your data as a CSV file somewhere you can browse to on the phone, such as Downloads or your cloud drive. You have the right file if it opens with sections called “## Vehicle” and “## Log”. Fuelio’s menus move between versions, so look for the CSV option rather than a specific menu name.

  2. Install AutoMate

Install AutoMate from Google Play and finish the short setup. It needs no account.

  3. Open Import Data

In AutoMate, open Settings, then Import Data, and tap Select File. Pick your Fuelio CSV. Files must be under 5 MB. AutoMate recognises the format and shows “Fuelio Export”.

  4. Choose the vehicle

Under Import Into Vehicle, pick the car the history belongs to, or tap Add New Vehicle. Make sure the vehicle uses the same distance unit as the file; AutoMate warns you if the file is in kilometres and the car is set to miles, or the other way round.

  5. Check the preview

Tap Preview. You see the number of entries, the date range and any rows that could not be read. If the dates could be read two ways, AutoMate says which format it used. It also flags odometer readings that look out of order.

  6. Import

Tap Import. The result screen shows how many entries came in, how many places were created and how many duplicates were skipped.

  7. Check your history

Open History to look through the imported entries. If something is off, delete the whole import from Settings, Import History, and try again. If you track several cars, repeat the steps for each one.

What comes across

  • Fill-ups: date, odometer, volume, price, full or partial fill, and notes.
  • The city of each fill-up, saved as a place.
  • Fuelio costs: service categories become service entries, the rest become expenses, with their notes.

Trips, photos and Fuelio’s own statistics stay behind. AutoMate recalculates economy and cost per mile from the imported entries.
